We are Patitas Rescue, a volunteer organization dedicated to reaffirming the bond between canines and humans. We respect the life of all animals and strive to make sure that every animal is given the love and care they deserve.

Patitas Rescue is a special project partnered with Pro-Animal to service stray Dogs and Cats in Retalhuleu, Guatemala. We are a private, volunteer-based, 501©3 nonprofit organization that works to rescue, rehabilitate, and place animals with caring families. We also aim to help foster a culture where both humans and animals feel safe living in their community.
Patitas Rescue services stray animals (Dogs & Cats), providing rescue, veterinary care, rehabilitation, fostering, spaying and neutering, and adoption services. Our goal is to provide care and find homes for stray animals in need forever. We offer several programs to advance the relationship between strays and the community.
Patitas Rescue strives to strengthen the bond between humans and animals through leadership, education, and community outreach.
M.V. Carlos Monroy
Graduated from Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala, obtaining his degree in veterinary medicine in 1999. A few years later he opened his veterinary clinic and has been practicing his profession for over 15 years. He also has a degree in feline internal medicine, is a zootechnician, and works as a university professor.

She then opened her veterinary clinic called Animal Health, located in Cantón Dolores, Retalhuleu, and has been practicing her profession with a lot of love for 12 years. Silvia is a mother of 2 children, loves to exercise in her free time, and provides dog grooming services in addition to her veterinary practice.

He opened his veterinary clinic, named TRIVET clinic, located on 4th avenue in Retalhuleu in 2003. He has been practicing his profession for over 20 years with much love and dedication. He is not only a lover of animals, but also of motorcycles and practices motocross in his spare time.

Founder and President of Patitas Rescue. A Guatemalan native who moved to the United States at the age of 9. She is a 20-year mortgage professional with a lifelong love for animals. While visiting her hometown of Retalhuleu, she fell in love with the food, people, and culture all over again. While there, she was inspired by two volunteers selling mangos to raise funds for a puppy that needed grooming and care. A few months later Patitas Rescue was born and eventually joined forces with the Pro-Animal Association to work for a better and more humane living for stray animals.

Vice President of Pro-Animal Association. She holds degrees in veterinary medicine from Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala and veterinary acupuncture from Instituto Mexicano de Medicina Veterinaria Complementaria. With 16 years of veterinary experience, Melissa is always willing to advance our mission.
